As they say in sports “it ain't over till the fat lady sings ".Well that is what we are facing the last 2 weeks of the season. Although I went perfect last week in my picks I know this week will determine who clinches the division and who would drop some spots. We had the hustlers of Horeb out hustle the shockers of Sharon by 33; T&T exploded against the warriors of Rogers Avenue beating them by 35; River of Life sustainers prevented the stars of CWC from shinning beating them by 11; and in the game of the week the professors of White Plains clinched their division and have hopes of another perfect season beating the ballers of Bethany by 5. Now the stage is set and to the victor goes the spoils. We have six games this week with some serious divisional implications, who will stand up and show some fight or which team would fall back to the pack, only time will tell but let’s see what Milo thinks about this week games which would end the hopes of some teams and uplift others. New Jerusalem Juggernauts vs Rogers Avenue Warriors
East meets west as the juggernauts of NJ try and end the season with a bang and leave the warriors of Rogers Ave win-less for the season. Reality check is something we all face in life. Our hopes and aspirations are high at the beginning of the season like a new spring season. However, new teams in the league always find it difficult to have success in their first year because reality sinks in. NJ knows what is at stake and ending the season above 500 is a goal they set at the beginning of the season. What are the keys to victory for both teams? NJ must push the rock, shoot well from the line, minimize the turnovers, and play solid defense. Rogers Ave on the other hand must play loose and give it their all, shoot well from everywhere, minimize the turnovers, and get bench contributions. This game would be close in the first half but in the second half I expect to see the Juggernauts run away and leave the warriors in the dust. NJ wins blow out style as they achieve their goals.
New Life Rejuvenators vs Sharon Shockers
West meets east as the rejuvenators of New Life look to seize the moment and attempt to win the western division. New Life is in a good spot and they will have to win their game and hope that Horeb and T&T lose so they could claim their first divisional title. New Life defeated T&T but lost to Horeb so if the season was to end with all three teams tied then Horeb wins the division and New Life drops to second place. What are the keys to victory for both teams? New Life must play solid defense, shoot well from the field, attack the paint and minimize the turnovers. Sharon on the other hand must play solid defense, attack the paint, shoot well from everywhere, and minimize the turnovers. Look for a close game throughout but in the end the better team will win and that team is New Life. New Life wins this game as they prepare for the playoffs.
Corona Crusaders vs Christian Fellowship Hawks
Battle in the west as the crusaders of Corona try to elevate their status and take it to the Hawks in an attempt to clip their wings. Both teams were off last week, and both teams most likely will be in the playoffs. Fellowship had a shot at the division but poor play down the stretch crippled their hopes. Now they face the Crusaders who despite their record play hard and can surprise some teams. What are the keys to victory for both teams? Corona must play solid defense, shoot well from the field, attack the rim, and minimize the turnovers. Fellowship on the other hand must play solid defense, shoot well from the field, out rebound their opponent, and attack the paint. Look for a close game throughout but I feel Fellowship will find a way to pull this game out in the closing seconds. Fellowship wins the match by 6 points as they put pressure on the top teams.
Triumphant Tabernacle Kings vs River of Life Sustainers
Battle in the west as the defending champs T&T kings try and defend their crown and win their division. T&T is tied with Horeb and New Life however, Horeb lost to T&T while New Life defeated T&T. So if T&T wins and both teams lose then T&T wins the division. If T&T loses and Horeb and New Life win them T&T drops to the third spot in the west. What are the keys to victory for both teams? T&T must play above the rim, shoot well from the field, attack the rim, and get bench contributions. ROL on the other hand must play smart and attack the paint, shoot well from the field, minimize the turnovers, and play with intensity. Look for a close game the first half but by the second half I expect to see T&T run away with the game and leave the sustainers of ROL in the dust.
Bethany Ballers vs Horeb Hustlers
East meets west as the ballers of Bethany try and stop the hustlers from hustling in Milo's "Game of the week". Well it has come down to one game for the division and what a game it is. Bethany lost last week to drop to 3rd spot in the east and have little hope of catching Bronx or White Plains. Horeb on the other hand must be a bit nervous because everything they worked hard for is on the line this game. If they lose and the other two teams they are tied with win then Horeb loses the division. If Horeb wins and T&T loses then they win the division because they defeated New Life earlier in the season. What are the keys to victory for both teams? Bethany must push the rock, shoot well from the field, attack the rim, and minimize the turnovers. Horeb on the other hand must play solid defense, shoot well from the field, attack the rim, and minimize the turnovers. Look for a close game throughout because both teams are ready for battle. However, I feel this game the ballers would come in with a different mindset and take it to the hustlers out hustling them at their own game. Bethany wins this match up in the closing moments by 4 points as they drop the hustles out of first place.
Community Worship Center Stars vs Ebenezer Sharp Shooters
Battle in the east as the stars of CWC try to stop the Sharp Shooters of Ebenezer and drop them in the standings. CWC lost last week to ROL and now they face a bigger opponent in the sharp shooters of Ebenezer. Ebenezer knows what is at stake and if they want to have a favorable match up come playoff time then they must win these games. What are the keys to victory for both teams? CWC must play solid defense, shoot well from the field, attack the rim, and out rebound their opponent. Ebenezer on the other hand must push the rock, minimize the turnovers, attack the rim, and get bench contributions. Look for a close game this time because I think both teams will match up well. I expect to see a close game but in the end the sharp shooter would pull away and defeat the stars by 8 points as they prepare for the dance.
