Wow the season is starting to heat up as teams start to find their identities. Last week we had some very exciting games last week and man I'm starting to feel better about my picks. I went 6-2 last week with a couple of teams surprising me with great performances. We had the eliminators of Ephesus derail the Bronx express giving them a loss by 3. We had the hustlers of Horeb out hustle the crushers of Cornerstone by 12; the juggernauts of NJ stung the vipers of Mt Vernon by 12; the destroyers of New Dime tamed the tigers of Mt Sinai by 12; the professors of White Plains schooled the crusaders of Corona by 29; the rejuvenators of New Life out sustained the sustainers of River of Life by 8; the high flying hawks of Fellowship blew out the shockers of Sharon by 15; and the defending champs T&T kings blew out the sharp shooters by 33. What really stand out to me is the fact that each week favorites can lose but it's how they are losing that is puzzling. One would think that some teams with their core and familiarity would have the edge each week, but their inconsistent play is what spells their demise. This week we have some more exciting games and for some teams it's now or never. With that said let’s see what Milo thinks about this week's games which could be the breaking point for some teams and a stepping stool for others. Let’s go.

Bronx Hawks Express vs Sharon Shockers
Battle in the northeast as the Bronx express look to get back on track and send an electric bolt to the shockers of Sharon. Both teams were defeated last week and for the Bronx team it was a devastating blow to their chances of winning their division and possibly getting a bye. Sharon the new kids on the block is going through growing pains and will learn from their experiences in the future. What are the keys to victory for both teams. Bronx must run express, play solid defense, shoot well from the line, and attack the paint. Sharon on the other hand must play solid defense, out rebound their opponent, shoot well from the field, and minimize the turnovers. Look for a close game the first half but by second half I expect to see the Bronx team run express and leave Sharon shocked in the distance. Bronx wins blow out style as they try and stay with the pack.

Triumphant Tabernacle Kings vs New Dimension Destroyers
West meets southwest as the defending champs try and destroy the destroyers of New Dime in Milo's "Game of the week". This game would be very interesting to say the least. T&T won the chip last year with legendary coach Colin leading the way. Now they face the destroyers who bye their way was coached by Colin when they won their last chip. Now the two teams battle and to the victory goes the spoils. Both teams knows what is at stake this game, and for Colin it's an opportunity to see how far some of his old and new players have come. New Dime is in first place in their division looking to continue their ways while T&T is in second place behind a red hot Fellowship hawks team. What are the keys to victory for both teams. T&T must play solid defense, shoot well from the field, minimize the turnovers, and out rebound their opponent. New Dime on the other hand must get off to a strong start, play solid defense, shoot well from the field, and attack the paint. Look for a close game throughout because both teams are good. I expect to see lots of score changes but in the end I feel the bigs of T&T would out play the destroyers down low and for that reason I'm picking them to win this match up by 2 points in the closing seconds.

Ebenezer Sharp Shooters vs Corona Crusaders
Battle in the east as the sharp shooter try and bounce back after an uninspiring loss and keep the crusaders of Corona at bay. Both teams lost last week blow out style and both teams need to save face. The difference this game is Ebenezer is in first place while Corona is in last. It's funny how one game can make such a difference in the standings. What are the keys to victory for both teams. Ebenezer must shoot well from the line, minimize the turnovers, get bench contributions, and out rebound their opponent. Look for a close game throughout but in the end I feel the sharp shooters have more to lose and for that reason I'm picking them to win this match up as they stay on top their division.

White Plains Professors vs Cornerstone Crushers
Northeast meets west as the professors of White Plains try and continue their perfect season as they set to crush the crushers of Cornerstone. White Plains looked in form last week with their total dominance over Mt Sinai. They led the entire time and was on cruise control the whole game. Cornerstone on the other hand loss a game that they should have won and now is in deep waters trying to survive. What are the keys to victory for both teams. White Plains must play their style and attack the paint, shoot well from the field, minimize the turnovers, and play solid defense. Cornerstone on the other hand must play solid defense, shoot well from the field, minimize the turnovers, and play team ball. Cornerstone thus far this year has underachieved and if they don't get on the same page as their coaching staff it will be a long season. Look for a close game the first half but I expect to see coach Felix and his team pressure Cornerstone into bad decisions and for that reason I'm picking them to win this match up by at least 10 points as they continue their undefeated season.

Bethany Ballers vs Christian Fellowship Hawks
East meets southwest as the ballers of Bethany try and stop the high flying hawks of Fellowship and give them their first loss of the year. Bethany was off last week and was scouting the hawks last week. Fellowship what can I say they have been playing better ball and it showed in the way they handled their business last week blowing out Sharon. This is a new wrinkle that they added from last year because they would beat teams they shouldn't and lose to teams that they should. Fellowship always start the year off strong and tends to fall off as teams get familiar with they sets. What are the keys to victory for both teams. Bethany must push the rock, out rebound their opponent, shoot well from the field, and minimize the turnovers. Fellowship on the other hand must play solid defense, shoot well from the line, attack the paint, and minimize the turnovers. I expect to see a close game but the way Fellowship has been knocking teams out I have to go with them this match up. Fellowship wins this game by 6 points as they continue to ride the waves.

River of Life Sustainers vs New Jerusalem Juggernauts
Southwest meets east as the sustainers try and stop the bleeding and hit the juggernauts with the hammer. ROL lost last week to the rejuvenators of New Life and now face the juggernauts of NJ who stung the vipers of Mt Vernon last week. Both teams played hard but their outcomes were different. NJ knows what is at stake and must continue to win in order to have a spot in the dance. What are the keys to victory for both teams. ROL must play solid defense, shoot well from the field, minimize the turnovers, and attack the paint. NJ on the other hand must push the rock, out rebound their opponent, shoot well from the line, and get bench contributions. Look for a close game throughout but in the end I feel the juggernauts have the better team and for that reason I'm picking them to win this match up by 10 points as they continue to ascend to the top.

Horeb Hustlers vs Mt Sinai Tigers
West meets southwest as the hustlers of Horeb try and continue their winning ways against the tigers of Mt Sinai. Twelve is the number for both teams last week. Horeb won by 12 last week against Cornerstone and the tigers lost by 12 points last week to New Dime. Now both teams are set to battle and both teams need this victory in the worse way. Horeb need to play better to get out the basement, while the tigers need to win to stay above the pack. What are the keys to victory for both teams. Horeb must out hustle their opponent, shoot well from the field, minimize the turnovers, and shoot at a high percentage. Mt Sinai on the other hand must play solid defense, out rebound their opponent, attack the rim, and get bench contributions. Look for a close game throughout but in the end I feel Mt Sinai would pounce and stop the hustlers in their tracks. Mt Sinai wins this match up by 6 points as they move up in the standings.

Remember it's Black history month and we as a race need to be more in tuned with our past in order to create a better future. Don't follow the crowd because the bible says many are called but few are chosen. We must be leaders not only at church but in the communities we live, the job markets we work, the social events we attend, and most of all the young folks we come in contact with. Life isn't promised to anyone and we are all living on borrowed time so make use of the talents and gifts God has given us so we could truly be called Children of the King.
