Well that's what I'm talking about another exciting week of action with teams playing their hearts out. Although I went 5 - 1 last week I realized that teams sometimes play down to their competition or sometimes they don't play to their capability due to outside factors. Players like fans know when they are facing better opponents or players but what I didn't realize was the impact some of the elite players have against opponents when they face off. So sometimes we sit and analyze why one team could dominate a particular opponent and look lost when they face another. You can't down play the effect it has on those players who might have bonds with others on different teams. This is why each week a team might look dominant and another week sub-par. We had the juggernauts of NJ defeat the crusaders of Corona by 21 points; the tigers of Mt Sinai chewed up the volunteers of SP; the prophets of QB baptized the kingsmen of Kingsboro by 16; the crushers of Cornerstone out hustled the hustlers of Horeb by 6; the sharp shooters of Ebenezer stunned the ballers of Bethany blow out style by 20; and in the game of the week Fellowship hawks played hard but feel to the kings of T&T by 16. This week we have 8 games with some divisional drama. Who would come out and play to their level? Only time would tell but let's see what Milo thinks about this week games which would catapult some teams to the top and drop others out of contention. Let's go.

Bronx Hawks Express vs Mt Vernon Vipers

Battle in the northeast as the Bronx express try and out run the vipers and avoid their sting. Both teams were off last week and both teams are familiar with each other. Bronx is riding high in first place and knows they can't take any team lightly. They have to continue winning if the want to claim the division. The vipers on the other hand are fighting for a playoff spot and time is running out. What are the keys to victory for both teams? Bronx must run express, shoot well from the field, minimize the turnovers, and play solid defense. Mt Vernon on the other hand must out rebound their opponent, shoot well from the line and field, get bench contributions and minimize the turnovers. Look for a close game the first half, but by second half I expect to see Bronx take off and gobble up the vipers by at least 10 points as they hold on to the top spot in the division.

Mt Sinai Tigers vs Ebenezer Sharp Shooters

Battle in the east as the sharp shooters try and tame the tigers in Milo's “Game of the Week ". Both teams played last week, and both teams came away with a victory. Now they square off and to the winner goes the spoils. This is an important game for both teams because of the impact it has in the division. Mt Sinai is in first place and needs to continue if they are to be considered elite. The sharp shooters on the other hand had an impressive win against arch rivals Bethany and did so convincingly. What are the keys to victory for both teams? The tigers must play solid defense, shoot well from the field, out rebound their opponent, and minimize the turnovers. Ebenezer on the other hand must shoot lights out from the field, get bench contributions, play solid defense, and attack the paint. Look for a close game because both teams are familiar with each other. However, I like what I saw from the sharp shooters last week and for that reason I'm picking them to win this match up by at least 4 points as they make a push for a high seed.

New Life Rejuvenators  vs GNYC Ebenezer

Battle in the west as the rejuvenators of New Life try and stop GNYC Ebenezer from getting their first win. Both teams are playing out their schedule and both teams most likely would be on the outside looking in come playoff time. But the games must be played and both teams have much to play for like “PRIDE". Losing is one thing especially when you put out your best effort but when you see inconsistency each week then players and fans have little to look forward to. But it's both teams first year so there should be some excitement this game especially for their fans. What are the keys to victory for both teams? New Life must play smart and attack the rim, shoot well from the field, get bench contributions, and minimize the turnovers. GNYC on the other hand must play desperate and loose, out rebound their opponent, shoot well from the field, and attack, attack, attack. Look for a close game because both teams are close in the standings. However, I feel that GNYC would play their best game of the year and for one night have their fans cheering. GNYC wins this game by 3 points claiming their first victory.

Kingsboro Kingsmen vs Cornerstone Crushers

Battle in the west as the crushers of Cornerstone try and fend off the kingsmen and keep them at bay. Cornerstone defeated the hustlers last week and did so without their full roster. Now they face a kingsmen team that was blown out last week by QB and needs to bounce back in a big way. Both teams are looking to solidify a high playoff spot so this game is definitely important. What are the keys to victory for both teams? Kingsboro must play solid defense, shoot well from the line, minimize the turnovers, and get bench contributions. Cornerstone on the other hand must play smart and attack the paint, shoot well from the field, out rebound their opponent, and attack the rim. Look for a close game but in the end I feel the crushers are a better team and for that reason I'm picking them to win this game by at least 8 points as they hold on to the division.

Triumphant Tabernacle Kings vs Horeb Hustlers

Battle in the south west as the kings of T&T battle the hustlers of Horeb and try to move up in the division. T&T exploded last week against the hawks of Fellowship and by winning has taken over the division. Horeb on the other hand had an opportunity last week but lost against the crushers. Both teams will make the playoffs it's just which team would Horeb be this week. You see this team puzzles me at times because they play good ball and then they sputter to score points. This game is definitely a tough one for them because T&T takes no prisoners. What are the keys to victory for both teams? T&T must play their style, shoot well from the field, get bench contributions, and minimize the turnovers. Horeb on the other hand must play their style and push the rock, shoot well from the field, get bench contributions, and attack the rim. Look for a close game the first half but by second half I expect to see the kings prove why they are considered one of the best teams this year. T&T wins this match up blow out style as they lay claim to the division.

Bethany Ballers vs River of Life Sustainers

East meets southwest as the ballers of Bethany try and bounce back against the sustainers of ROL and stay in the second spot. Bethany lost a game last week that frankly confused me. This team plays with energy and last week I didn't see it at all. They were embarrassed by the sharp shooters and wasn't in the game at all. They face the sustainers who are playing 500 ball currently and is a dangerous team. What are the keys to victory for both teams? Bethany must minimize the turnovers, shoot well from the field, out rebound their opponent, and attack the paint. ROL on the other hand must play hard but smart, shoot well from the field, get all the loose balls, and execute their game plan. Look for a close game the first half, but by second half I expect to see the ballers ball and run away with this game by 8 points. Bethany wins and stays in second place in their division.

White Plains Professors vs Spring Valley Volunteers

Best in the northeast battles the worst in the northeast as the defending champs take a break against a divisional opponent. The volunteers play hard but unfortunately they have to face one of the best if not the best teams in their division. What are the keys to victory for both teams? WP will rest their starters, play solid defense, shoot well from the line, and out rebound their opponent. Spring Valley on the other hand must shoot lights out from the field, attack the paint, get bench contributions, and play loose. Look for a blowout game from the jump because even if the professors start their bench players they will still win this game blow out style. WP wins this match up as they get ready for the dance.

Queensboro Prophets vs New Jerusalem Juggernauts

East meets west as the prophets of QB descend on New Jerusalem and keep them under 500. Both teams won last week and did so convincingly and now both teams are ready to prove their worth this game. QB needs to win this game to stay with the Jones, while NJ needs a win to stay in 3rd place. What are the keys to victory for both teams? QB must play solid defense, shoot well from the field, get bench contributions and attack the paint. NJ on the other hand must minimize the turnovers, shoot well from the field, out rebound their opponent, and get all the loose balls. Look for a close game because both teams are good, however, I feel the juggernauts have been playing more consistent ball lately and for that reason I'm picking them to win this match up by 4 points as they move above 500.
