Wow we had some exciting games last week with some surprises to say the least. But what’s more concerning is the fact that some teams can’t seem to play consistent from week to week. The way I see it is the more things change the more they stay the same. We had the professors of White Plains school the sharp shooters of Ebenezer beating them by 13. We had the hawks of Fellowship fly high and defeated the defending champs T&T Kings by 7. We had the rejuvenators of New Life suck the nutrients from River of Life sustainers defeating them by 5. We had the ballers of Bethany defeated Community Worship Center Conquerors by 2. We had the juggernauts of NJ derailed by the high powered offense of Bronx express losing by 17, and the crusaders of Corona spanked the warriors of Rogers Ave by 21. Although I went 3-2 in my picks I’m starting to get a good sense of how teams want to attack each other. I apologize for not commenting on the Bethany vs CWC but that was one of the more exciting games last weekend. This week we have 6 games scheduled and it will be a test of will power and consistency. For some teams it’s a matter of execution and game planning, while for other it’s about being hungry for an entire game and season. Let’s see what Milo thinks about this week games which could prove some teams worth or plummet others to the basement. Let’s go.
Ebenezer Sharp Shooters vs Bethany Ballers
Battle in the east as the sharp shooters of Ebenezer trey and right their ship and take it to a divisional rival Bethany ballers. Bethany balled last week and defeated new kids on the block CWC by 2 points. Now they face a familiar opponent in the sharp shooters of Ebenezer. Ebenezer didn’t play the type of game they wanted last week and was blown out the gym for lack of execution. This week there is no difference if you don’t execute then the likely result would be a loss. What are the keys to victory for both teams. Ebenezer must play solid defense, shoot well from the field, minimize the turnovers, and attack the rim. Bethany on the other hand must play their style and attack with their bigs, shoot well from the field, out rebound their opponent and minimize the turnovers. I expect to see a close game because both teams are very familiar with each other, however, I feel the ballers would come in and execute their game plan down the stretch and for that reason I’m picking them to win this match up by 3 points as they stay undefeated.
New Life Rejuvenators vs Horeb Hustlers
Battle in the west as the undefeated rejuvenators look to stay on top their division and send the hustlers of Horeb into the defeated ranks in Milo’s 1st “Game of the week”. Both teams know what is at stake and both teams know the importance of divisional wins. New Life did what they had to last week and defeated River of Life by 5 points. Horeb although being off last week look every bit a contender from the way they executed in their first match up. Both teams want to stay ahead in the division so the anticipation would be high. What are the keys to victory for both teams. New Life must push the rock, out rebound their opponent, minimize the turnovers, and attack the rim. Horeb on the other hand must play solid defense, shoot well from the field, attack the paint, and pressure the guards into turnovers. This game would be close throughout however, the team that execute down the stretch most likely would win. Look for a close game but in the end I feel the hustlers of Horeb would do a little bit more and win this match up by 2 points in the closing seconds to pull this one out and move up in the standings.
Triumphant Tabernacle Kings vs Corona Crusaders
Battle in the west as the defending champs look to bounce back from a tough loss and try and crush the hopes of the crusaders of Corona and drop them in the standings. T&T didn’t play to their standards and lost to a tough hungry Fellowship team. But folks don’t panic because last year it was the same situation and coach Colin and his staff used it as fuel to make a title run. Corona on the other hand played a complete game and look like they got their swag back. What are the keys to victory for both teams. T&T must play their style and attack the paint, shoot well from the line, minimize the turnovers, and play solid defense. Corona on the other hand must continue to push the rock, out rebound their opponent, pressure the guards into turnovers, and play smart. Look for a close game the first half but I feel T&T would bounce back and prove to everyone why they are the defending champs. T&T wins this match up blow out style.
River of Life Sustainers vs Rogers Ave Warriors
Battle in the west as the sustainers of ROL try and defeat the warriors of Rogers Ave and drop them in the basement in their division. ROL lost last week and played hard for the most part. Now they face one of the new kids on the block in Rogers Ave who came out the gate with a blowout loss to Corona. I must admit every year new teams join the league and their hopes and aspirations are crushed when reality hits them and the season is over and they are win-less. Will the warriors of Rogers Ave find the same fate. Well I feel they would prove me wrong because I saw fight, coaching the is committed on building and teaching, and players that look hungry but must be committed. What are the keys to victory for both teams. River of Life must play solid defense, shoot well from the line, minimize the turnovers, and get bench contributions. Rogers Ave on the other hand must play loose, run their sets, minimize the turnovers, and out rebound their opponent. This game would be close because both teams are close. But I feel it would be very exciting because of the unknown. Although I feel experience wins most times I’m putting my bet on the warriors pulling this one out. Roger Ave wins this match up and surprise the sustainers and keep them in the basement.
Sharon Shockers vs New Jerusalem Juggernauts
Battle in the east as the shockers of Sharon try and bounce back from a tough loss and take it to the juggernauts of NJ and move out of the basement in the east. Both teams lost last week and both teams are win-less. This game would be for pride and establishing bragging rights. Sharon must start taking the next step forward being they have been in the league for a couple of seasons. What are the keys to victory for both teams. Sharon must play solid defense, shoot well from the line, attack the paint, and minimize the turnovers. NJ on the other hand must out rebound their opponent, shoot well from the field, attack the rim, and get bench contributions. Look for a close low scoring game with lots of score changes. But in the end I feel that NJ with a bit more experience would pull this one out and defeat the shockers not really shocking anyone.
Christian Fellowship Hawks vs White Plains Professors
East meets west as hawks of Fellowship try and continue to soar and take down the professors of WP in Milo’s second “Game of the week”. It seems like Fellowship does this every year and the teams they face early in the season usually end up taking the division. Fellowship defeated the defending champs T&T last week and must be feeling great. Now they face another elite performing team in the professors that quietly is playing their game and so far are undefeated. This game could very well be a look at the championship game let’s not get ahead of ourselves Milo, but it is a possibility. White Plains took it to divisional rival Ebenezer last week and showed why they are a problem. What are the keys to victory for both teams. Fellowship must play hard but smart and attack the rim, out rebound their opponent, minimize the turnovers, and get bench contributions. WP on the other hand must play their style and attack the rim, shoot well from the line and field, play solid defense, and make stops. Look for a close game because both teams can score but in the end I feel WP have a message to the league that they are and always will be the team to beat. Fellowship loses this game by 4 points as they continue to figure it out.

If we don’t think we are living in the final times just look around and see what is happening. This country is in chaos and if we don’t cling to Christ the devil will consume us.
