Milo’s 2017 Week 2 Picks

What’s good NCBL family Milo is back and ready for another exciting season. Although I missed the first week of games as everyone know I still follow every team to see what is in store for the season. Last year we had an exciting season with the kings of T&T taking home the hardware. This year although we have fewer teams the landscape for teams success would be more intense and competition should be fierce. We have a couple new teams in the mix this year however, most of the teams this year pretty much know what to expect. I know every team have a case that they are the team to beat but before we get ahead of ourselves let’s see what Milo thinks about this week games which for some teams would be a measuring stick and other a chance to prove themselves. Let’s go.

New Life Rejuvenators vs River of Life Sustainers
Battle in the west as the rejuvenators of New Life try and stay perfect and out shine the sustainers of ROL. New Life defeated Corona their first game and did so in fine fashion. They controlled the tempo and boards all game and Corona didn’t have an answer. River of Life on the other hand lost to the hustlers of Horeb and was out played the entire game. Both teams knows what is at stake because winning games early could be the difference from making the playoffs and getting a favorable seed or facing a tougher opponent come playoffs. What are the keys to victory for both teams. New Life must control the tempo, play solid defense, shoot well from the floor and minimize the turnovers. River of Life on the other hand must play smart and attack the paint, out rebound their opponent, shoot well from the line, and pressure the guards of New Life. I expect to see a close game this week because both teams are familiar with each other. However I feel the sustainers have something to prove and for that reason I’m giving them a chance this game. ROL will win this match up and surprise the rejuvenators by 2 points in the closing minutes thus staying with the pack.

Ebenezer Sharp Shooters vs White Plains Professors
Battle in the east as the sharp shooters of Ebenezer try and stop the professors of White Plains from schooling them in Milo’s “Game of the Week”. Ebenezer defeated New Jerusalem juggernauts by one point their first game and was happy to pull of a win. The professors of WP showed the shockers of Sharon why they are a problem this year defeating them by 12 points. Both teams are tied for first place and from the way the division looks they might be battling all year for the top spot. What are the keys to victory for both teams. Ebenezer must play solid defense, shoot well from the field, attack the rim, and out rebound their opponent. White Plains on the other hand must play their style and push the rock, minimize the turnovers, shoot well from the line, and pressure the guards of Ebenezer. Both teams are familiar with each other and this game would be a measuring stick for both teams. I know last year was a down year for both teams especially the professors of WP but I feel this year they have a chip on their shoulder and would like to remind the league and teams that they are and still is one of the elite teams in the league. I expect to see a close game throughout but in the end I feel the professors have more to lose and for that reason I’m picking them to win this match up by 6 points as they prove their worth.

Rogers Ave vs Corona Crusaders
Battle in the west as the Corona crusaders try and get in the winning column and crush the hopes of the new kids on the block Rogers Ave and move out the basement. Rogers Ave I will get a good name for you guys is playing their first game of the season. I know all the juices will be flowing because it’s the start of a new journey. Corona lost their first game of the season to New Life and didn’t play to their standard. This week they practiced and hopefully corrected their mistakes from their first game. What are the keys to victory for both teams. Rogers Ave must play solid defense, shoot well from the field, out rebound their opponent, and minimize the turnovers. Corona on the other hand must play smart and attack the guards of Rogers Ave, shoot well from the field, play solid defense, and minimize the turnovers. Look for a close game because I just don’t know what to expect from Roger Ave, however, I feel Corona because they played one game and got the jitters out the way they would be ready for this battle. Corona would win this match up by at least 2 points as they move out the basement.

New Jerusalem Juggernauts vs Bronx Hawks Express
Battle in the east as the juggernauts of NJ try and bounce back and derail the Bronx express and keep them in the rear view. NJ lost a tough game to the sharp shooters of Ebenezer by 1 point. Bronx on the other hand lost a close game by 1 point to the defending champs T&T. Now it’s very important that both teams play well because a couple of losses in this division would be detrimental to their success. What are the keys to victory for both teams. NJ must play solid defense, shoot well from the line, make stops, and out rebound their opponent. Bronx on the other hand must play their style and push the rock, shoot well from the field, minimize the turnovers, and play solid defense. Look for a close game because both teams are familiar with each other. The story line this game would be can the juggernauts stop the guards of Bronx and keep them at bay. I expect to see a few score changes but in the end I expect to see Bronx turn up the dial and run express thus winning this match up by at least 8 points moving out of the basement.

Triumphant Tabernacle Kings vs Christian Fellowship Hawks
Battle in the west as the defending champs T&T try and continue their winning ways and clip the wings of the hawks of Fellowship. What a way to start off the season for both teams. T&T defeated Bronx by 1 point in what was a great game, Fellowship meanwhile is playing their first game of the season and man it’s going to be a tough battle. T&T have the players, the coaching, and the intangibles to control their own destiny. Fellowship on the other hand is trying the youth movement and hopefully they would come out of the gate running. What are the keys to victory for both teams. T&T must out rebound their opponent, shoot well from the line, attack the rim, and minimize the turnovers. Fellowship on the other hand must play smart and pick their spots, shoot well from the field, minimize the turnovers and push the rock. Look for a close game in the first half because if I know coach Colin he would like to experiment to see different line ups. I know Fellowship will come ready but I feel T&T with what’s at stake would prove their worth and run Fellowship out the gym. T&T wins this match up by at least 10 points as they continue the winning ways.

Well that’s all for Milo’s week 2 picks. Players come out and give the fans a show, fans come out and support your teams, and lets fellowship together.
